Agenda: Robots are Cool! And better ones are even cooler!
This is the first club meeting of 2014,
New person content:
This will not be a major part of the meeting, but some of this will be walked through quickly.
- An introduction to the charter of the club, FLL, etc.
- Explaining about FLL and Robotics -- In as concrete a way as possible (videos, examples, etc)
- Describing the club and what it is about
- Purpose: Learn about Robots, Build Cool & Useful Robots, Have Fun, Produce an FLL team
- Values: FLL "Gracious Professionalism" / Other
- Gracious Professionalism encourages high-quality work, emphasizes the value of others, and respects individuals and the community. Fierce competition and mutual gain are not separate notions. Children learn and compete like crazy, but must treat one another with respect and kindness in the process.
- Adults / Coaches: Inspirations and Supporters, not Doers
- Not even project managers
- Overview of Available Resources (WebSite, Blog, Wiki, Email, Blog, Robots, Table, Camera, etc.)
Core (returning) content:
- Review of 2013
- Robot designs
- Robot scores
- Look at better robots from 2013 and before
- What do they have? What do they know how to do that you don't? What did of their design decisions are better than yours?
